dobar album, cak jako dobar. u odnosu na prethodnog, pojacali su bas i zvuce vrlo masno. zamjerka je to kaj su opet stvari mrvicu pre punk i pre rock. nije trebo onda liam govorit da se vracaju na stari zvuk
al dobro, oni su prodigy, oni su frajeri

najbolje su mi take me to the hospital, thunder, warriors dance i world's on fire, bas fini rejv zvuk.

spot šta sam čuo/vidio je solidan ali niš posebno...a da me zanima kako album zvuči, zanima...a samim tim šta se diže halabuka oko svakog albuma ih čini važnim bendom te raširenim i utjecajnim pop proizvodom...o kvaliteti se da raspravljat ali otom potom kad preslušam...činjenica je da su gomilu rokersko-pankerske i ine ekipe prešaltali na elektroniku pred 15 godina...meni su osobno bili malo otrcani sa tim hitovima ali ne svojom krivnjom nego činjenicom da si npr voodoo people mogao čut bilo gdje i bilo kad i uvijek i stalno...od radija, tevea, po raznoraznim partijima svih vrsta mjuze...uredno je nakon, šta ja znam, nirvane ili doorsa krenuo voodoo people ili out of space ili no good...isto tako mislim da je njihov najbolji album "fat of the land" kad se sve zbroji i oduzme...ima taj svevremenski štih, dok su prva dva ipak zarobljeni u ranim devedesetima (šta opet nije loše samo po sebi)...

...slušam ovo već dva dana u autu i nema te gužve u gradu koja bi me naživcirala uz ovu deliciju...Pork je inače i jedan od najboljih downtempo-triphop labela.Šteta što Pork općenito a ni Baby Mammoth ne objavljuju ništa već neko vrijeme...

Kyuss - Welcome To Sky Valley

ovo je jedan od najboljih rock albuma ikad...totalno podcijenjen kada je izašao sredinom devedesetih...prepredobar...albumčina...a rame uz rame je Blues For The Red Sun...puklo me da slušam dok sam stavljao profil u rokenrol podforumu...

Welcome to Sky Valley was actually recorded in early 1993 but due to the decline of the band's record label (Dali) it was released an entire year later. This was the first album to feature bassist Scott Reeder, who took the place of Nick Oliveri in 1992 at the record release show for their second album. This is the final album with drummer Brant Bjork, who left to join Fu Manchu. The song "N.O." is actually an Across The River cover song, a band fronted by Mario Lalli and featuring Scott Reeder. After leaving The Obsessed and joining up with Kyuss, Brant Bjork suggested they do a tribute. In concert, the band Tool has covered "Demon Cleaner" a number of times, occasionally getting Kyuss bassist Scott Reeder to play it with them live.The album was released as a 4 track album with 10 songs mashed together. It was soon re-released split into the 10 tracks. Most of the commercially-sold versions of the CD contain the four tracks, which is meant to encourage listeners to experience it as a full album instead of as a collection of separate songs. Although, in an interview with Josh Homme, he claimed that the band "just wanted it to be like hell to play on a CD player. It opens up with Gardenia, Josh Homme's signature guitar style blaring , when it's joined in by the Drums & Bass. What i love about this song is it's rebellion, sexual innuendo mixed with some funky arse riffing and singing. Josh Homme's guitar soloing is just marvelous, his Ovation GP really brings out those high notes in a way I've never heard of. This leads into Asteroid, a space-ish epic, complete with over-the-top effects, reverb and echo and such( it works here) It gets more faster and intense towards the end, then a stylistic change brings in Supa Scoopa and the Mighty Scoop. This is prolly my favourite song of theirs, period, and to play on the guitar. The riff is just killer. Builds into the epic chorus with a militaristic drum beat, then let's loose. Cruisy outro, though. If there ever was a "plain metal rocker" that Kyuss did, 100* would be it. Fast, energetic. The fade-out effect at the end is great. This leads into Space Cadet, written by Josh Homme, his guitaristic epiphany while in Kyuss. Like his "Stairway to Heaven", in the way only Kyuss can deliver it. Down-to-earth, Trippy, Soft, Thought-Provoking springs into mind. Then the blaring drum intro welcomes Demon Cleaner to the foray...It's a very deep song, interesting lyrics. I recently saw a piece in a forum of interview based on the making of this CD where Josh Homme says this song is actually meant to be talking about Brushing your teeth, haha that guy has such a great sense of humour. The last part of the Album, starts with Odyssey, It's fast paced metal rifferage mixed in with some very psychedelic guitar work, backwards guitars, distorted guitars, you name it. Conan Troutman is a real Head-banger. N.O is a funky, bluesy metal rocker....complete with the solo's and chord progressions..... In comes flying, it's the last song of the Album, Whitewater. I love this, it has real energy...pounds at your ears, distorted, psychedelic vocals with a epic chorus.... it then all waters down to a nice cool down jam to bring the listener down. All in all, a very, very good album. Good for listening to when drunk, going cruising, while high. The songs are all of high quality, no filler in here... It pounds at all senses, i do warn others though, you need to be in the right mood for this or it can turn into a rather big headache.
